Thermage FLX

Skin Procedures

What is Thermage FLX?

A 4th-generation monopolar radiofrequency (RF) platform operating at 6.78 MHz that
delivers energy from the dermis through the dermal–fat interface to drive collagen
contraction, renewal and lifting. The new AccuREP™ algorithm calculates tissue impedance
on every pulse and adjusts output automatically for consistent heat points, while an
integrated vibration & cooling system minimizes discomfort during treatment. (Thermage, Susanne Ilmd)

Treatment Areas

Cellon Dermatology's Thermage FLX Protocol

  • 3D Energy Mapping

Each area's thickness, elasticity and fat layer
is assessed in advance with ultrasound and palpation,
so shot spacing and energy can be set to fit.

  • Pain Management

Topical numbing plus vibration and cooling,
with optional oral analgesic if needed.

  • Collagen Booster Pairing

PRX-T33, PDRN skin boosters and others
can be added every 2–4 weeks to
    amplify collagen remodeling.

  • Data Logging & Tracking

Shot maps, energy levels and temperature logs are
    saved so re-treatments can automatically
    recommend each patient's optimal settings.

FLX Upgrades vs. Original Thermage CPT

Category Thermage FLX Improvements Clinical Meaning
Speed Total Tip 4.0 cm² (vs. previous 3.0 cm²)
up to 25% shorter treatments
Average full-face treatment time drops from 35 → 26 minutes,
reducing fatigue and discomfort (Thermage, Susanne Ilmd)
Energy Precision AccuREP™ auto-calibrates output and impedance pulse by pulse Heat-point depth and temperature stay uniform across areas,
improving lifting reproducibility while lowering overheat risk (Thermage)
Tip Design Ergonomic handpiece + 4.0 Tip with optimized heat distribution Greater heat volume per shot at the same shot count means more collagen stimulation
potentially longer-lasting results (Skinlab — Injectable & Laser Clinic)
Patient Comfort Built-in vibration module + continuous cooling, reduced noise Most patients can undergo treatment with topical numbing alone,
with less post-treatment redness and swelling (Thermage, echelon.com.hk)
Shot Efficiency CPT 900 shots ≈ FLX 600 shots (equivalent energy) Lower consumable cost and shorter treatment time, better economics
(Skinlab — Injectable & Laser Clinic)

Individual results and longevity may vary based on skin condition and lifestyle.

  • Q1.

    Is it very painful?

Blood draw is similar to standard donation; during the injection, topical numbing keeps it tolerable for most patients.
  • Q2.

    What's the downtime?

Mild flushing and slight swelling typically resolve within 1–3 days; washing and makeup are fine right away.
  • Q3.

    How many sessions are needed?

After one session, we observe progress for 1–3 months before deciding on additional treatments.
  • Q4.

    Any side effects?

    Bruising at the injection site and brief warmth have been reported rarely;
no serious complications have been reported to date.
